Who we are

  • Talaqira is a professional platform connecting professionals and marketers with exhibitions, events and their organizers. It is owned and operated by Faisal Hussain Ali, the controller of your data under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and its regulations.
  • By using the app and accepting this policy you confirm you have read what we collect, how we use it and who can see it.

What we collect

  • Account: the email you sign in with (no passwords; you sign in with a code sent to your email).
  • Your professional card: name, job title, company, profession, interests, city, what you offer and seek, and your photo and cover if you add them.
  • Contact details: the mobile number you type yourself, and your email.
  • Optional details: gender and age band (e.g. 25–34, never a birth date). You can choose "prefer not to say" and change or remove them at any time. They are used only to deliver events aimed at your group and in grouped numbers for publishers; they never appear on your card and nobody can see them. If you don’t state them, announcements narrowed by gender or age won’t reach you.
  • Organizers only: commercial registration number, and the organization’s official email and its verification status.
  • Event activity: events you confirmed or viewed, your check-ins, connection and meeting requests, post-meeting ratings, your private notes about people, and your taps on an event’s sponsors (recorded only to give the organizer a count).
  • “Contact us” messages: the topic and details you write, your device type, system and app version, linked to your account so we can reply to your registered email. The message reaches the platform’s inbox and appears in the admin dashboard with your name only, never your email or phone number.
  • Reports: reports you make about people or events, and reports others make about you. We use them only to review violations and protect users, and we never reveal who reported to the person reported.
  • Your consents: which policy version you accepted and when.
  • Limited technical data needed to run and protect the service, such as error logs and sign-in attempts.
  • Sensitive data: we never ask for health, religious, political, ethnic or criminal information; please do not add it to your card, notes or messages. If you add it yourself, you are responsible for it and we may remove it.

What people can and cannot see

  • Every signed-in user: your professional card only (name, title, company, profession, interests, city, offers/seeks, photos). For organizers, also their verified email domain (e.g. "verified via company.sa").
  • Only people whose request you accepted: your mobile number and your email (you can hide the email from them too).
  • Only you and the platform administration: your commercial registration number, verification status, settings, consent record, and your gender and age band.
  • Only you: your private notes about people.
  • Organizers see aggregated numbers about their events (reach, confirmations, arrivals, introductions, taps on each sponsor, breakdown by profession, city, role, gender and age), never individual names. Small groups are hidden so no one can be singled out: under 3 for introductions, and under 10 for anything about gender or age, including the audience estimate before publishing.
  • A publisher can narrow who receives an announcement (city, role, profession, gender, age), but never learns who received it by name and never sees your optional details.
  • The admin dashboard never shows users’ phone numbers or emails.

Location

  • We read your location once, only at the moment you check in, exchange cards, or accept a "meet at the event" request, to confirm you are at the venue during the event.
  • We never track you in the background or store your coordinates; we only record that and when you arrived. Nobody is ever shown your distance from the venue.
  • Location data embedded in photos (EXIF) is removed before upload.

How we use your data

  • To run the service: sign-in, showing your card, delivering announcements that match your interests, and enabling connections and meetings.
  • To send the notifications and emails you chose (instant, weekly digest, or off); you can stop emails at any time.
  • To protect the platform: preventing spam and abusive accounts, enforcing bans, and verifying organizers.
  • To give organizers aggregated numbers that do not reveal individuals.
  • We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Legal basis for processing

  • Your consent: for optional details (gender and age band), your location when checking in or exchanging cards, and the emails you chose. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the settings.
  • Providing the service you asked for: creating your account, showing your card, delivering announcements that match your interests, and enabling connections and meetings.
  • Legal obligations: when a competent authority makes a lawful request, or the law requires us to keep certain data.
  • Our legitimate interests and those of our users: protecting the platform from abuse, fraud and fake accounts, enforcing bans, and improving the service with aggregated numbers that do not reveal individuals, without prejudice to your rights and interests and within what the law allows.

Who we share it with

  • Other users, only as described in "What people can and cannot see".
  • Service providers acting for us and on our instructions, such as hosting and email delivery, only as far as needed.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to investigate or prevent unlawful activity, enforce our terms, defend ourselves against any claim, or protect the safety of users and the platform.
  • Our legal and professional advisers when needed, only as far as necessary and under full confidentiality.
  • If ownership or operation of Talaqira passes to another party, through a sale, merger or otherwise, the data passes to it as far as needed to continue the service; the new party is bound by this policy, and we will tell you before any material change in how your data is used.

Where your data is stored

  • The database and images are stored on servers inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Some data may be processed outside the Kingdom by supporting services, such as the email delivery service, which needs your email address and the message to deliver it. By accepting this policy you consent to this transfer, and we apply the safeguards the law requires.

Retention and deletion

  • We keep your data while your account exists.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time; your card, contact details, requests, notes and meetings are permanently deleted.
  • Exception: for a banned account we keep only its email and the reason, to prevent signing up again with it. Non-personal aggregated numbers remain in event statistics.
  • We may keep some data longer than usual, only as far as needed, if the account was suspended or banned for a violation, if there is an ongoing or likely complaint, report, dispute or legal proceeding involving the account, or if the law requires it. We delete it once the reason ends.

Your rights

  • Under the PDPL you have the right to be informed, to access and obtain a copy of your data, to correct and update it, to request its destruction, and to withdraw your consent.
  • Most of this is available directly from your card and settings. For anything else write to: talaqira@gmail.com, or through “Contact us” in the app.
  • You may also file a complaint with the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA).

Age

  • The app is for professionals; you must be 18 or older to sign up.

Changes

  • If we change this policy materially, we will show you the new version to accept before you continue. The date of the last update appears at the top.

Contact

  • Questions about your privacy: talaqira@gmail.com, or through “Contact us” in the app.
